A Prince George's Man Faces Charges In The Shooting Death Of His Girlfriend, Pal: Police
A Prince George's County man faces charges relating to the shooting deaths of his former girlfriend and an acquaintance in separate cases.
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — A man already in custody as the suspect in his former girlfriend's murder has since been charged with the shooting death of an acquaintance. Marcus Mitchell, 31, of Landover, has been in custody, facing charges for the Feb. 5 death of 29-year-old Remi Howell of Landover.
He now has been charged with the January shooting death of 32-year-old Kenneth Reddix of Beltsville. Reddix had been shot and later died at a hospital. Prince George's County Police believe Reddix and Mitchell knew each other and Reddix had been shot during an argument.
While executing a search warrant in connection with Howell's murder, investigators recovered a gun. Through ballistic testing, that gun was determined to be the same weapon used to kill Reddix. Detectives do not believe the two murders are connected, according to the department.
