PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — A 34-year-old District Heights man has been arrested and charged in connection to a fatal shooting that happened in Forestville in August. On Aug. 13 around 1:35 a.m., officers responded to the 3700 block of Donnell Drive for a report of a shooting. Tyrone Thomas, 37, of District Heights was found outside with gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later. Two additional adult males also were shot. Their injuries were not considered life-threatening, according to the Prince George's County Police Department.Devonte Taylor, 34, of District Heights has been charged with first-degree and second-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder and second-degree murder, and related charges. According to police, the suspect and the victims knew each other.

Bring your family and friends to the Purcellville Music and Arts Festival on Saturday, April 25 from noon to 7 p.m. rain or shine. This free, family-friendly event will be held at Fireman’s Field Park and inside the Bush Tabernacle Skating Rink at 250 South Nursery Avenue.

Enjoy a full day of live music and performances across multiple stages, along with an art exhibit, games, chalk art, and a variety of interactive activities. Browse offerings from local vendors featuring handcrafted goods, food, beverages, and more. There will be fun for all ages, including face painting, glitter tattoos, sidewalk chalk art, and t-shirt or tote bag decorating. Local non-profits will also be on-site sharing information and resources. Special activities will highlight and celebrate the 250th anniversary of America’s independence. 
Inside the Bush Tabernacle Skating Rink—transformed into the Art Hall—you’ll find more than 30 works of art, live performances, art demonstrations, and hands-on activities including quilt square decorating and an Instrument Petting Zoo. Be sure to pick up a festival scavenger hunt booklet and complete it for a chance to win a prize!
