Man Found Dead In Suitland Duplex After Fire Breaks Out
Authorities aren't sure yet what caused the fire or the man's death.

SUITLAND, MD -- The body of a man was discovered after a duplex caught fire in Suitland Tuesday morning.
Firefighters were dispatched after a smoke alarm went off in an attached duplex unit at around 3:45 a.m. in the 4600 block of Brookfield Drive. They arrived to find a "small fire" in the second-floor bedroom and a deceased man inside, according to a report from the Prince George's County Fire Department.
Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire and began an investigation into its cause. Medical examiners will also conduct an autopsy on the man to determine his identity and the cause of death.

Fire loss was estimated to be about $2,500.
Firefighters will return to the community on Wednesday afternoon to go door-to-door and check smoke alarms. They will install fire alarms at no charge in homes that do not have a working one.
