Man Killed, Child Injured In Shooting At Oxon Hill Youth Football Game

Prince George's County police were searching for the suspect following the Saturday shooting at Potomac High School.

OXON HILL, MD — A person fatally shot a man and wounded a child in a shooting at a youth football game in Oxon Hill on Saturday, authorities said.

According to Prince George's County police, the shooting happened around 11:20 a.m. during the game at Potomac High School. When police arrived, they found a man in the bleachers suffering from a gunshot wound.

The man was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Authorities also found a child suffering from a gunshot wound. The child was driven to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities said police are actively searching for the suspect, who fled after the shooting. Police did not provide the suspect's description.
