Man Killed When Motorcycle Slams Into Light Pole

Prince George's County Police say a Fort Washington man died in the crash on National Harbor Boulevard.

OXON HILL, MD — A motorcyclist was killed Wednesday when his bike slammed into a light pole, according to Prince George's County Police.

The victim is Raymond Newman III, 32, of Trowbridge Place in Fort Washington.

Police say the crash happened about 5:10 p.m. on National Harbor Boulevard. Officers found Newman suffering from critical injuries. He was taken to an area hospital, where he died several hours later.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident. Investigators say Newman was northbound on National Harbor Boulevard when he lost control of his motorcycle and struck a light pole.

Police are working to determine what caused the bike to veer out of control.
