Man Shot After Trying To Run Over Officers, Chase Ensued: Prince George's Police

A man tried to run over police officers who shot and wounded him. He then led the officers on a police chase.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — After trying to ram officers with a vehicle, Bladensburg Police officers shot the driver late Sunday night. Officers say the man tried to run down officers in a stolen car before engaging in a police chase crossing the border into Washington, D.C.

Officers were first sent to the 5100 block of 57th Avenue in Bladensburg around 11:51 p.m. for a report of two men wearing ski masks who were described as "acting suspiciously" and appeared to be trying to break into motor vehicles. Once officers arrived, they tried to speak to the two men but they took off.

One man was stopped and the second man got into a car that was later confirmed by the DC Police Department to be stolen. The officers said they asked the driver multiple times to stop and show his hands, but he did not comply and sped towards the officers in attempt to hit them, according to the Bladensburg Police.
