Man Tries to Drag Child Out Bedroom Window: Police
Police are searching for a man they say tried to kidnap a sleeping child through an unlocked window early Tuesday in Fairmount Heights.

Fairmount Heights, MD — Police are hunting for a man who reportedly tried to snatch a sleeping child from a bedroom via an unlocked window early Tuesday.
Prince George's County Police say the attempted kidnapping took place at 3:45 a.m. at a home in the 5900 block of L Street in Fairmount Heights.
Investigators say the suspect tried to pull the child out of an unlocked bedroom window. The man was outside the home, while the youngster was inside sleeping in a bed. The child yelled and was able to scare off the suspect, who then ran away.

Police say the youth was not hurt.
This is the only report of this type of incident in the area, say police, who will search the neighborhood Tuesday night to gather information in this case. The search will begin at 5 p.m. in the 5900 block of L Street.

The suspect is described as an African American man, 6’0” and about 300 pounds. He was wearing a white T-shirt.
