Man In Wheelchair Hit And Killed By Driver Who Fled The Scene: Prince George's Co. Police
Prince George's County Police are searching for the driver they say hit and killed a man in a wheelchair June 17 in Hyattsville.
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — Police are searching for a silver Volkswagen they believe may have been involved in a fatal hit-and-run of a man in a wheelchair.
The incident happened June 17 at approximately 3:20 a.m. in the area of University Boulevard and Riggs Road in the unincorporated section of Hyattsville. A preliminary investigation reveals an unidentified driver hit the man who was in his wheelchair in the road. The man was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver did not stay at the scene but instead took off, according to the Prince George's County Police Department.
Investigators must notify the victim’s family before his identity is released. Anyone with information on this case is asked to call the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit at 301-731-4422.
