Man Who Threw 12-Month-Old Down Stairs, Out Window Charged: Police

A man who has eluded police for 9 months after he threw a 1-year-old down a flight of stairs and out a window has been arrested and charged.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — After eluding authorities for nine months, Kevin Morris was taken into custody on charges after police said he threw a 12-month old child down a flight of stairs and out a window,.

The arrest was announced Friday. Morris has been charged with attempted first-degree murder and second-degree murder.

On June 5, 2025, Prince George's sheriff's deputies were called to a home where they say Morris threw the one-year-old child down a flight of stairs inside his home. He then followed the child downstairs, picked up the child and barricaded himself inside a room.

Morris then opened a window in the room and threw the 12-month-old out the window, causing the child to land in an outdoor trash can, according to police.

Morris was arrested March 25. He also faces additional charges of first-degree assault, second-degree child abuse, second-degree assault and reckless endangerment.
