Man Who Used Gun, Circular Saw To Rob Clinton Store Sentenced

CLINTON, MD — A Prince George's County man has been sentenced to prison in connection to the armed robbery of a convenience store using a saw.

U.S. District Judge Theodore Chuang sentenced Zebedee Alexander Johnson, 36, to 10 years in prison followed by five years of supervised release in connection with the crime.

According to Johnson's guilty plea, on April 29, 2022, Johnson and four others went into a Clinton convenience store and pointed a firearm at a store employee. They ordered him to lie down on the floor then used a circular saw to break open the store’s ATM and remove trays containing approximately $35,020.

At the time of the armed robbery, Johnson was on federal supervised release in connection to a 2018 drug distribution conviction. Johnson confessed that he violated the supervised-release terms, which prohibits him from committing any new crimes, by committing the armed robbery, the prosecution said.
