Man's Body Found Hanging In Upper Marlboro: Prince George's Police

UPPER MARLBORO, MD — A man was found hanging outside a business located in the 9300 block of D'Arcy Road in Upper Marlboro early Sunday morning.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Prince George's County police detectives and evidence technicians were called to the area around 7:44 a.m. Detectives spoke with witnesses and examined evidence at the site. The medical examiner took the body for an autopsy, according to the police department.

Based on the preliminary investigation, which included detectives talking to those who knew the individual and learning about his background, investigators believe this was a suicide, the police department stated.

No evidence of foul play has been discovered at this time. This remains an open case and detectives will continue to investigate.

"We understand this incident is both disturbing and painful to residents who may have driven by the scene or learned about this incident throughout the day," the police department stated.

Prince George's County Executive Aisha Braveboy and Police Chief George Nader met virtually with the community Sunday afternoon to address concerns, answer questions and provide details on resources available to those experiencing mental health issues.
