Maserati Driver Suspected Of DUI Injures 2 State Troopers: Police

A man driving a Maserati crashed into a state trooper's vehicle that hit one trooper and injured a 2nd trooper in a vehicle, police said.

CAMP SPRINGS, MD — A suspected drunk driver has been arrested after Maryland State Police say his Maserati hit a state trooper's vehicle that then hit two troopers.

The incident happened Sunday shortly before 1:30 a.m. in the area of northbound Branch Avenue near Allentown Road.

The preliminary investigation indicates that the first trooper’s marked patrol vehicle was parked behind an unoccupied vehicle parked in the left lane of Branch Avenue. The second trooper’s marked patrol vehicle was parked behind the first trooper. Both vehicles had their emergency lights activated.

The Maserati driven by Avery Alexander Bost, 31, of Upper Marlboro hit the rear of the second trooper’s vehicle, causing that vehicle to hit the trooper who was outside of his vehicle and crash into the rear of the first trooper’s vehicle. Both troopers were taken by ambulance to a local hospital and have since been released.

Bost has been charged with suspected impaired driving and other related traffic charges.
