MD Mother Reunited With Missing Daughter After 3 Months

TEMPLE HILLS, MD — A Maryland mother was reunited with her daughter last week nearly three months after she was reported missing, according to authorities and a report.
Shakiyla Stepney, 32, was found safe after she was reported missing on Dec. 6, according to an announcement by The Black & Missing Foundation. Stepney, who authorities said had a disability, had last been seen at her Temple Hills home.
In the organization's post, The Black & Missing Foundation thanked FOX 5 and Prince George's County police.

Shakiyla's mom, Michelle Wardlaw, told FOX 5 she was relieved to see her daughter again.
"I'm just so happy and overwhelmed by the outpour of love and concern that so many had," she continued.

Wardlaw also encouraged families in similar situations to "never give up."
