Meet Pro Wrestler Nikolai Volkoff Tonight

Fans can get autographs and take pictures at the Bowie Baysox game starting at 7:05 p.m.

Professional wrestler Nikolai Volkoff will be stepping out of the ring and stopping by the Prince George’s Stadium tonight to sign autographs and meet fans.

Fans will know Volkoff as one of the greatest villains in WWE wrestling from the 1970s to 1990, playing the role of a Communist Russian who performed his rendition of the Soviet National Anthem before every match, according to World Wrestling Entertainment.

In reality, Volkoff, whose birth name is Josip Peruzovic, had emigrated from Yugoslavia to escape Communist rule and supported the United States. When the Cold War ended, he announced his support to WWE fans by joining an American tag team.
