Motorcyclist Killed, Bowie Man Injured in North Carolina Wreck

The driver of the tractor trailer that struck six motorcycles has been charged with felony hit and run and misdemeanor death.

A Bowie motorcycle rider was among the injured in a fatal wreck after a tractor trailer struck six bikes in North Carolina on Friday. Information on the victims was released Saturday by North Carolina Highway Patrol.

The fatal victim was identified as Arnie M. Morris of Woodbridge, Va., according to WTVR.

A second Woodbridge motorcyclist is listed in stable condition and a third was treated and released. Three others were also injured, including a Bowie, Md. resident, Gregory D. Harmon.

The driver of the tractor trailer, Daniel S. Serna of Plantation, Fla., has been charged with felony hit and run and misdemeanor death, according to WXII-12.

At around 6:30 a.m. Friday, the motorcycles were stopped on the side of the shoulder of the southbound side of Interstate 85 when the tractor trailer left the road and struck all six motorcycles.

The truck stopped about a mile down the road, but troopers believe Morris only stopped because of a flat tire, WFMYNews2 reports.
