MS-13 Gang Member From Hyattsville Sentenced In Murder Case

An MS-13 gang member has been sentenced to federal prison for his role in the murder of another person, according to prosecutors.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — A 30-year-old Hyattsville man has been sentenced to federal prison for conspiracy to commit murder. The man belongs to the Weedams Locos Salvatrucha (WLS) clique of the MS-13 gang, which operated primarily in Adelphia.

According to court documents, on Aug. 8, 2020, Endy Arturo Gaitan Campos, a.k.a. “Clandestino," along with other WLS members met at a park where they planned to murder a person they believed was cooperating with law enforcement. Campos told another MS-13 member he'd help commit the murder. The men went to a wooded area, armed with guns and shot the victim when he arrived. Sanchez then pistol-whipped and stabbed the victim. His body was dragged to a stream and left there.

The men went back to another member's house with the guns hidden in a bag. One of the men discovered he was bleeding and, out of concern that his DNA had been left on the body, other WLS members returned to the stream to take the body and bury it, court documents noted. Campos has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison, followed by three years of supervised release, for his role.
