Murder Charges Filed Against Middle River Man: Prince George's Police
A Middle River man faces first- and second-degree murder charges in the shooting death of a Lanham man, police say.
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — A 21-year-old Middle River man has been charged with the murder of 20-year-old Daniel James Harris of Lanham.
On June 13 at approximately 1:30 a.m., patrol officers were called to the 1700 block of Forest Park Drive in District Heights for a shooting. They found Harris outside with a gunshot wound. He died of his injuries a short time later. Two other men were shot in the incident. Those two victims survived their injuries, according to the police department.
On July 7, patrol officers arrested Green in Upper Marlboro while responding to an unrelated 911 call. During his arrest, officers located a gun in Ja’Quan Green's waistband. During ballistic testing of the recovered gun, it was linked to Harris’ murder, the police department said.

The preliminary investigation revealed the suspect and victim were not known to each other. The motive remains under investigation. Green has been charged with first- and second-degree murder and related charges, documents show.
