Murder-Suicide In Upper Marlboro: Police

UPPER MARLBORO, MD -- A woman's ex-boyfriend shot her to death and then turned the gun on himself in Upper Marlboro, police say.

A family member called 911 at around 2:15 p.m. on Sunday to report a domestic dispute in a home in the 9600 block of Meadow Lark Avenue, and when officers arrived they found both the victim and suspect suffering from a gunshot wound, according to a report from the Prince George's County Police Department.

Police believe 59-year-old Derrick Lark of Mitchellville shot and killed his ex-girlfriend, 55-year-old Dannette Lawrence of Upper Marlboro, and then shot himself.

Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
