Mutilated Cat In PG County Finds A Home

Hardy got a second chance at life after he was adopted at the end of February, according to Alley Cat Rescue.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD -- It was a happy ending for a cat that was discovered tortured and mutilated in Prince George's County recently, as he was adopted by a family at the end of February, according to Alley Cat Rescue.

The organization saved Hardy -- named for his incredible endurance through hardship -- after finding him with his ears cut and limbs and tail bound.

"I don't have enough words to describe the happiness of bringing Hardy home," said Hardy's anonymous adopter, according to an Alley Cat Rescue statement. "He had a hard start to life but we are excited to provide him with love."

Hardy is in good hands, because both of the adopters are in the veterinary field and will therefore be able to provide him with excellent care.

"Hardy will likely be afflicted with arthritis, litter box issues and pain in his feet," Alley Cat Rescue Program Manager Niki Cochran said in the statement. "Despite this, he should live a happy and healthy life with continued veterinary care."
