City of Bowie to Cohost "The Importance of Mental Health" Two-Part Seminar

The Importance of Mental Health seminar focuses on educating the community on critical factors, societal impact, and resources.

The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Prince George’s County, with funding provided by a grant from the City of Bowie, will be hosting a two-part seminar, “The Importance of Mental Health” focused on educating the community on critical factors, societal impact, and resources related to mental health.

This two-part seminar is designed to provide mental health awareness and education, offer information on resources for persons with mental health conditions, their advocates and caregivers, and also promote NAMI as a safe-haven of support in the local community. In Maryland alone, over 100,000 adults and children live with serious mental illness and other mental health conditions. The seminar will serve to open public dialogue on the importance of mental health, and in turn, reduce the stigma of mental illness that causes barriers to treatment and support.
