National Night Out 2019: Find Your Event In PG County
Neighborhoods around Prince George's County and Bowie will hold cookouts and block parties for National Night Out on Aug. 6.
PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, MD — City agencies and neighborhoods around Prince George’s County will participate in the 36th annual National Night Out on Tuesday, Aug. 6 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. National Night Out is a crime and drug prevention event held in communities around the country.
Nearly 60 neighborhoods and groups throughout Prince George’s County will turn their porch lights on and host block parties and cookouts in support of National Night Out. Joining them will be local law enforcement and city officials.
The City of Bowie also will host a community-wide block party from 6-8 p.m. at Allen Pond Park, 3330 Northview Dr. The event offers free fun for the family, including law enforcement displays, a bounce house, music, games, food and a dunk tank.

National Night Out is celebrated in many different ways, including block parties, cookouts, potluck suppers, ice cream socials and games for children
Sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW), National Night Out aims at bringing awareness to crime prevention, generating support for and participation in local anti-crime programs, boosting neighborhood pride and partnerships with law enforcement, and sending a message to criminals that neighborhoods are fighting back.

- District I, Hyattsville - Riverdale Heights Fire Department, 6101 Roanoke Ave., 6:30-8 p.m.
- District II, Bowie - Fairwood Center/Clearfield Sycamore Club, 12600 Fairwood Pkwy., 6-8 p.m.
- District III, Landover - Town of District Heights, 2001 Maury Dr., 5:30-8:30 p.m.
- District IV, Oxon Hill - Church of the Living Waters, 4915 Wheeler Rd., 6-9 p.m.
- District V, Clinton - District V Station, 6707 Groveton St., 5-8:30 p.m.
- District VI, Beltsville - District VI Station, 4321 Sellman Rd., 6-8 p.m.
- District VII, Fort Washington - District VII Station, 11108 Fort Washington Rd., 6-9 p.m.
