Neighbor Charged With Landover Hills Woman's Murder

The 62-year-old woman was found dead inside her Landover Hills home Friday night; a neighbor is in custody.

Landover Hills, MD — A Landover Hills woman's neighbor has been charged with murder in her death, which likely happened during a robbery, police say.

The suspect is Robert James Crosby, 61, of the 4100 block of 71st Avenue in Landover Hills.

Prince George's County Police say the victim is Lenise Fredericks, 62, of 71st Avenue.

Investigators believe the motive behind the attack is robbery.

Crosby is charged with first-degree murder and robbery. He’s in custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.

About 6 p.m. Friday, patrol officers and officers from the Landover Hills Police Department were called to the 4000 block of 71st Avenue to check on the welfare of Fredericks.

Officers found the victim suffering from trauma to her upper body. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
