New Inpatient Physical Therapy / Rehabilitation Center Proposed for Melford

Encompass Health has submitted a Detailed Site Plan application that proposes the construction a one-story/61,809 sq. ft., 60-bed physical therapy/rehabilitation center in the Melford development. The site of the proposed development is located at 5081 Howerton Way, near the intersection of Melford Boulevard and Marconi Way, and is zoned M-X-T (Mixed Use – Transportation Oriented).

The City has established the following schedule for the virtual Stakeholders Meeting and virtual public hearings for this application:

• STAKEHOLDERS MEETING: held Thursday, September 24, 2020. View a video of the meeting
• BOWIE ADVISORY PLANNING BOARD: Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at 7 p.m. Register for this Zoom meeting
• BOWIE CITY COUNCIL: Monday, October 19, 2020 at 8 p.m. This meeting can be viewed in the following ways:

Participants in the Zoom calls can submit questions during the meetings using the Question feature in Zoom.

Written comments/testimony for the Bowie Advisory Planning Board Hearing will be accepted up until 6 p.m. on October 13 by emailing jmeinert@cityofbowie.org. The Planning staff will read your comments into the record during the Public Hearing period indicated on the agenda.
