Baby Won't Wait For Hospital Delivery, Bowie Mom Gives Birth In Car
A registered nurse en route to the hospital to deliver her baby found herself giving birth in the vehicle on Route 50 in Bowie.
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — A registered nurse from Bowie and her husband were headed to the hospital to have their baby when they realized the baby wasn't interested in waiting.
"As soon as my water broke, I called the doctor, but everything just cascaded from there," Michelle Whitehead told Fox DC. "We left - and within five minutes of leaving our house - we didn’t even get to the next exit on 50 – I told my husband to pull over and call 911 because we were going to have the baby!"
As soon as they pulled over, Brian Whitehead called 911, but the baby didn't wait for any instructions from the dispatcher. As soon as their baby arrived, they wrapped Cameron in a sweater to stay warm.
