Nightclub Shooting Leaves Young Father Dead, 2 Others Injured: Prince George's Police

A young father is dead and two others injured in a shooting that happened outside a gentlemen's club in Hyattsville, according to police.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — A 28-year-old Landover man was killed while working as a security guard at a nightclub early Tuesday morning. Two others were injured in the shooting outside Area Code Gentlemen's Club on Chillum Road in Hyattsville.

According to the Prince George's County Police Department, a vehicle pulled up outside the business and opened fire at approximately 12:40 a.m., fatally shooting Alex Lynch. A woman and another man were injured.

The victim’s brother told FOX 5 Lynch also worked as a waiter at Red Lobster. He leaves behind a 4-year-old son.

"I thought I was dreaming at first," Aaron Watkins, the victim’s brother said. "Get a phone call: ‘Hey, your little brother is gone.’ What? Nah, I’m dreaming. And actually to find out that they took my little brother was heartbreaking."

Watkins called the suspects cowards.

"What did my little brother do to you? What'd he do? Because I don’t know no beef that he had. He never told me about anything. I don’t even know what he did. I need some closure," Watkins said.
