No, Sewage Did Not Spill On Fans At FedExField

Washington football fans claimed sewage spilled on them during Sunday's game at FedExField. The team said it was just water.

LANDOVER, MD — Video showed liquid flowing onto fans Sunday at the Washington Football Team's home opener. Fans claimed it was waste, but stadium officials explained that it was just water.

Instagram user Tommy O'Brien shared the footage. Barstool Sports tweeted out his tape, gaining 1.1 million views.

"That's sewage," one attendee said in the video as fans cleared the area.

O'Brien later posted a photo with Washington Football Team co-CEO Tanya Snyder after the situation cleared.

"Shoutout Tanya Snyder and the organization for taking care of us," O'Brien wrote.

FedExField clarified the confusion about two hours after the video hit the internet. The stadium noted that it is "all water under the bridge."

The Washington Football Team fell to the Los Angeles Chargers, 20-16.

Week two will feature a home match-up against the New York Giants. The game airs Thursday at 8:20 p.m. on the NFL Network.
