Officer Shoots, Kills Suspected Armed Drug Dealer: Police
Police say they had received a report that an armed man was selling drugs in the neighborhood.

LANDOVER, MD -- An officer shot and killed a suspected armed drug dealer in Landover late Thursday night.
Acting on a tip, police conducted a joint operation in the 7000 block of Sheriff Road, according to a tweet from the Prince George's County Police Department at 11:19 p.m.
The tip involved an armed individual selling drugs in the neighborhood, and when officers approached the suspect he ran and was tackled about 25 yards away by officers, police said.

"[D]uring the struggle, officers observe the suspect reaching for the suspect’s gun in his waistband," police tweeted. "One officer discharged his weapon, striking the suspect. An EST medic immediately began providing emergency aid to the suspect."
Despite life-saving measures, doctors pronounced him dead at the hospital.
