'Operation Sole' Shoe Giveaway For PGCPS Students This Month

Operation Sole will have free shoes in sizes range from 6 toddlers to 5 kids, and children must be present to get their shoes.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — Children in Prince George's County will be able to participate in a shoe giveaway as part of the Prince George's County Memorial Library System Back to School events.

“One of our core values is collaboration, so we are thrilled to partner with these community organizations and help bring basic school necessities to families in need. The library is all about learning; we want to give children the tools they will need to be successful, and starting this weekend, the PGCMLS Health and Wellness work team and other staff will be part of the giveaway events," Michael Gannon, PGCMLS acting co-chief executive officer.

Operation Sole

The library is partnering with Operation Warm, a national nonprofit that offers high-quality shoes for children, for a shoe giveaway event. During the events, children will have the opportunity to get a new pair of shoes to start school. Limit two pairs of shoes per family.
