Package Thieves Strike In PG County (Video)
Police are urging locals to take steps to prevent their packages from being stolen.
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD -- 'Tis the season for package thievery, and police have caught a few culprits on tape -- and are urging locals to take action to protect themselves from becoming a victim.
The first video, from Fort Washington and dated Nov. 29, shows a thief stealing a large screen TV that had been delivered, cramming the huge package into the getaway car.
The second video is from Landover on Oct. 23 and shows a suspect pulling up, getting out, grabbing a package off the front porch, and then driving away.

A third video, from Capitol Heights on Nov. 29, shows two suspects grab multiple packages that had been delivered.
Police offer the following tips to residents:

- If possible, pick up the ordered item at the store
- Ship the item to your workplace
- Have a neighbor keep an eye out for the item if you know you won’t be home during the delivery window
- Have the item sent to a friend or family member who is home during normal delivery hours
- If possible, ship the item to an Amazon Locker, UPS Office, FedEx Office or Post Office
Require a signature at the time of delivery
