Police Identify Pedestrian Killed in Accident: Update

Prince George's County Police say a Potomac man died Wednesday night.

CLINTON, MD — Authorities have released the name of a man who died Wednesday night after he was hit by a minivan while crossing a Prince George’s County street.

Police say the deadly accident happened before 10 p.m. Wednesday in the 9100 block of Piscataway Road in Clinton. The victim is Abulhasan Ansari, 71, of Barnwood Lane in Potomac. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Prince George’s County Police.

A westbound van on Piscataway Road struck the victim, who was not in a crosswalk. Police say the driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.

The driver was not hurt.
