Pedestrian Struck, Killed In PG County: Police

A pedestrian who was crossing the street in Chillum was struck and killed Sunday.

CHILLUM, MD -- A pedestrian has been struck and killed in Prince George's County, police say.

Police were called to the intersection of New Hampshire Avenue and Metzerott Road in Chillum Sunday afternoon, according to a tweet from the Prince George's County Police Department.

The victim was crossing New Hampshire Avenue when, "for reasons which remain under investigation," the pedestrian was struck by a car, police added.

The incident closed the intersection for a few hours Sunday evening.

Police later identified the victim as 75-year-old Shufang Wu of Hyattsville.
