Try Out to Be Voice of Bowie, Anthem Singer

A panel will audition singers and announcers for upcoming city events on Feb. 27.

BOWIE, MD — The City of Bowie is holding open auditions on Feb. 27 for individuals or groups who want to perform at events such as the City’s Fourth of July Celebration, the Memorial Day Parade, Bowiefest, and the International Festival, according to a news release.

Auditions begin at 9 a.m. for the National Anthem and at 11:30 a.m. for the announcers.

Performers must be prepared to perform the National Anthem a cappella, plus one other song of their choice, for a judging panel.

For the announcers, a script will be provided to participants to read for the event organizers.

Appointments can be made for both the Anthem Auditions and the Voice of Bowie Auditions by calling 301-809-3078 or email mcorley@cityofbowie.org.

Walk-ins are welcome. However, you must sign up before 10 a.m. for the Anthem and before 11:30 a.m. for the Voice of Bowie.

Auditions for both singers and announcers will be held in the Council Chambers at Bowie City Hall.
