GLENARDEN, MD — Prince George's County is getting its first-ever Nordstrom Rack, and developers of the Woodmore Towne Centre announced recently the groundbreaking of a five-acre land parcel where it will be constructed.
The 30,000-square-foot Nordstrom Rack, as well as 29,000 square feet of additional retail and restaurants, will be part of the Centre's second phase of development, according to a statement from developers Petrie Richardson Ventures and PGIM Real Estate.
The development was approved Sept. 19.

"This is a great retail amendment to Woodmore Towne Centre – as well as Prince George’s County – and will be another great asset to the vibrant mix here,” Terry Richardson, president of PRV, said in the statement. "Nordstrom Rack is not only a popular and trendy retailer, but it will also bring jobs and contribute to the expanding economy in this part of the region."
Woodmore Towne Center opened in 2010 and is anchored by Wegmans, Costco, JC Penney, Best Buy and Petco. It covers 140 acres and includes 700,000 square feet of retail space. It is currently 90 percent leased, with new restaurant tenants set to open in the spring.
