PG County Man Wins $50K Lottery Prize 15 Times Using Same Numbers

The lucky Accokeek man used the same numbers on 15 different Pick 5 tickets, winning a total of $750,000, lottery officials said.

ACCOKEEK, MD — A Prince George's County man told his wife her days of working were over after he won 15 $50,000 lottery jackpots by purchasing numerous tickets using the same numbers.

According to a Maryland Lottery news release, the 65-year-old Accokeek man purchased 15 Pick 5 tickets at Brother Liquors, located at 12788B Old Fort Road in Fort Washington. He picked the same numbers for each ticket, lottery officials said.

The next morning, he learned each ticket was worth $50,000 for a grand total of $750,000.

"That’s when he told his wife that her days of working were over. He has also been planning for his retirement after 20 years as a federal employee," Maryland Lottery officials said in a news release. "With two retirements on the horizon and a number of Lottery wins, the Accokeek man said he and his wife are financially set."

The wins weren't the first for the man, lottery officials said, adding that he's won several other prizes over the years, typically while playing Pick 4.

Brothers Liquors will receive a $500 bonus for every ticket, meaning the business will receive a total of $7,500.
