Members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., Psi Epsilon Omega Chapter collected hundreds of pairs of shoes to help global charity.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — Member of the Psi Epsilon Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., recently collected thousands of gently used shoes to help people of color around the world.

“We’ve been gathering shoes since September. Our goal was to collect 800 pairs,” said Benita Swindell, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Psi Epsilon Omega Chapter president, in a release. “Thanks to the generosity and service-mindedness of our members, we were able to surpass our goal and can now help hundreds of people lift themselves out of poverty.”

The Psi Epsilon Omega Chapter, which is based in Prince George's County, collected the shoes in partnership with Soles4Souls, a nonprofit that distributes shoes to people of color around the world.
