PG County Students Lose A Day Of Spring Break: Report

A fourth inclement weather closure due to the wind storm earlier this month means PG County schools will be in session Friday, April 6.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD -- Students at Prince George's County schools will lose a day of spring break due to the numerous closures this school year caused by inclement weather, according to a report.

WTOP reports that students will now have to be in school Friday, April 6, which could certainly have a big impact on families' spring break travel plans, particularly if they were hoping to extend a vacation into that weekend.

Schools closed for the fourth time earlier this month after a windstorm knocked out power to thousands of people and caused havoc throughout the county.

If there is another closure between now and early April, officials may add April 5 as a make-up date as well, according to the report.
