PG County's Rushern Baker To Run For Governor: Reports
Baker will be part of a crowded field competing for the Democratic nomination to take on Maryland Republican Gov. Larry Hogan.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — Prince George's County Executive Rushern Baker has announced his intention to run for governor of Maryland, according to numerous reports.
Baker announced his candidacy in a video message that explains why he thinks he can win the Democratic Party nomination and challenge Republican Gov. Larry Hogan, who is running for a second term.
The 58-year-old has spent seven years as leader of PG County, the second-largest jurisdiction in Maryland. If he is victorious next year, he would become the first African-American governor of Maryland.
