PG Police Plan Cinco de Mayo Sobriety Checkpoint

Prince George's County Police Department will conduct sobriety check May 5; fatal crashes have happened the last three years on the date.

The Prince George’s County Police Department is trying to end a string of Cinco de Mayo tragedies.

Police will conduct a sobriety checkpoint on Tuesday, May 5, in the northern portion of the county. Police say the checkpoint will run from 6 p.m. to midnight.

For the last three years, someone has died in a car crash in the county on May 5, the department says, which has become a party night celebrating Cinco de Mayo. Anyone with party plans is urged to line up a sober ride home.
