PG Schools to Delay Opening on Monday, January 30
BREAKING: The schedule will be altered on Monday, Jan. 30, in Prince George's County Public Schools.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — Schools in Prince George's County are opening later than usual on Monday, Jan. 30. Officials announced that schools and offices will open on a two-hour delay.
Field trips, half-day Early Childhood Center, half-day special education programs and half-day prekindergarten are canceled on Monday, school authorities said. Work study transportation will not be available on Monday.
A winter weather advisory calling for 1 to 2 inches of snow was in effect for Prince George's County until 7 a.m., along with Anne Arundel, Calvert, Charles and St. Mary's counties.

In addition to Prince George's County, schools in Calvert, Caroline, Charles, Dorchester and St. Mary's counties were opening on a two-hour delay Monday morning. Queen Anne's and Talbot county schools were opening 90 minutes late.

The school system posted the following weather announcement on its website Monday morning:
Monday, January 30, 2017 - Code Orange - Schools and offices will open with a two hour delay. EMERGENCY PERSONNEL must report to work on time and are not eligible for liberal leave. (LAS ESCUELAS COMENZARÁN DOS HORAS DESPUÉS DEL HORARIO NORMAL)
- There will be NO work-study transportation. (Those students should NOT report to school.)
- There will be no half-day Early Childhood Center (ECC), half-day Special Education Programs, or half-day PreK.
- Any other school program requiring transportation prior to 12 noon will NOT have transportation, including Howard B. Owens Science Center
- All field trips will be canceled.
- Food Services will offer breakfast.
