PGPD Officers Honored For Saving People Who Fell Into Frozen Pond
Two patrol officers are credited with rushing to help three people who fell through the ice last winter.

NEW CARROLLTON, MD -- Prince George's County Police Chief Hank Stawinski honored two officers for their efforts in rescuing three people who fell through a frozen pond last winter.
The ceremony was held Thursday morning in New Carrollton. The officers are credited with saving three citizens who had fallen through a frozen pond -- and one of the officers fell through the ice himself.
Stawinski also honored members of the Harbor Unit for their efforts to save workers placed in danger by a major crash on the Woodrow Wilson Bridge earlier this year.
