Weather Decision For PG County Schools For Wednesday, March 21

BREAKING: The announcement from Prince George's County Public Schools came in Wednesday morning.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — Public schools in Prince George's County will be closed on Wednesday, March 21. School officials made the announcement of the closure Wednesday morning.

While many school systems announced closures on Tuesday evening, authorities in PG said they were waiting until Wednesday morning for a reason.

"We apologize for the delayed announcement, but any additional closures would further impact Spring Break," school officials said.

Prince George's County is under a winter storm warning until 8 p.m. on Wednesday calling for 4 to 8 inches of snow.

Officials from Prince George's County Public Schools said the school system was on "code yellow," meaning public schools and offices will be closed Wednesday, and only emergency personnel should report. The Aerospace Engineering and Aviation Technology at DuVal High School Open House Information Session is rescheduled for 6 p.m. on Monday, March 26.
