Prince George's County emergency responders found the wounded pilot walking in a field after the plane had a "hard landing."

FORT WASHINGTON, MD — Emergency responders in Prince George's County found a pilot whose small plane had a "hard landing" near Potomac Air Field in Fort Washington, and the man was taken to the hospital for evaluation.
The pilot was talking with a 911 call taker after the crash, Prince George's County Fire Department spokesman Mark Brady tweeted at 11:37 a.m., reporting about 15 minutes later that the "walking wounded pilot" was located by the driver of a fire department SUV, who drove him out of the woods to an EMS unit staged on Gallahan Road.
The pilot, an adult man, has been taken to a local trauma center as a precaution. There was no fire or hazardous materials associated with the plane crash, which happened in a field, Brady said.
