Police Ask For Tips In Fatal Pedestrian Collision In Accokeek
Prince George's police investigators are asking the public for tips in a fatal pedestrian collision that happened in August in Accokeek.
ACCOKEEK, MD — Detectives continue to investigate a now fatal pedestrian collision that happened in early August.
Investigators have been attempting to locate the victim's next of kin to inform them of his death, which was done Wednesday.
On Aug. 5 at approximately 1:40 a.m., Prince George's police officers were called to the area of Indian Head Highway and Farmington Road for a report of a pedestrian collision. Anthony Wright of Washington, D.C., 65, was taken to a hospital where he died on Aug. 28.

The preliminary investigation suggests Wright was walking on Indian Head Highway when, for reasons now being investigated, he was hit by a vehicle traveling southbound. The driver, who was uninjured, remained at the scene.
Investigators ask that anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who has dash camera or home surveillance footage that captured the incident contact the Prince George’s County Police Department at 301-731-4422.
