Police Identify Young Woman Gunned Down in Hillcrest Heights
Police say the family of 26-year-old Takeisha Hughes-Coats of Northeast D.C. called them after seeing a news report.

HILLCREST HEIGHTS, MD — Police have identified the young woman who was gunned down in Hillcrest Heights back on Jan. 15.
Police say 26-year-old Takeisha Hughes-Coats of Northeast D.C. was the victim in the attack. She was identified after her family contact detectives after seeing the news report on it, according to a report from the Prince George's County Police Department.
Hughes-Coats was discovered just after 10 p.m. on Jan. 15 outside the 3100 block of Good Hope Avenue suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are still trying to find a suspect and a motive for the crime.
