Police Make Stunning Discovery About Body In Burned Chillum Home
Police believe the woman, who was found badly burned, was killed before the fire destroyed the home.

CHILLUM, MD -- Police are investigating the death of a 76-year-old woman who was found in a home that burned down nearly two months ago after discovering evidence that she had been murdered before the fire ravaged the house.
Police say the body of Jeanette Goines of the 1400 block of Ray Road was so badly burned that it was unidentifiable when she was discovered at around 7:40 a.m. on April 14, and it took an autopsy to determine who she was through dental records, according to a report from the Prince George's County Police Department.
The medical examiner also determined that she had died from blunt force trauma, and not from the fire, and she died before the fire took place, the report states.

Just a half hour before the fire, police were called to that home for a "residential alarm call," but officers found the home secured with no signs of forced entry. There was also no sign of a fire at the time.
