Police Officer Delivers DoorDash Order After Driver Admits To No License

A Greenbelt police officer is being praised for delivering a DoorDash order after pulling over the driver before she could complete the run.

GREENBELT, MD — A Greenbelt police officer has been heralded for his heartwarming actions after a routine traffic stop delayed someone's DoorDash delivery.

An officer saw a white Toyota Prius traveling on the wrong side of the road, so the officer stopped the vehicle. During the officer's conversation with the driver, the woman disclosed that she didn't have a valid driver's license and was trying to deliver a DoorDash order, the police department stated.

Instead of immediately towing the vehicle, the officer allowed the driver to safely park the vehicle legally so she wouldn't create a traffic hazard. Then when the driver told him she still had a delivery order in her vehicle and a hungry customer waiting for her food, the officer knew he had to help.

So he grabbed the brown paper bag and gave the food order an official police escort to the customer.

"Sometimes policing means enforcement. Sometimes it means discretion. And sometimes it means making sure someone still gets their dinner," the police department stated on its Facebook page.
