3 Officers Hurt As PG Police Cars Collide, Road Open Again

Three Prince George's County Police officers were hurt when two patrol vehicles collided; Lottsford Road is now open.

MITCHELLVILLE, MD — Three Prince George's County Police officers may have been hurt when two patrol vehicles collided during an investigation; Lottsford Road in Mitchellville is now open, the department said shortly after 3 p.m. Tuesday on Twitter.

A Twitter alert said a patrol car was involved in a crash with a civilian vehicle at westbound Lottsford Road and Lottsford Vista Road in Mitchellville.

Police said that about 1:35 p.m. two police cruisers collided while taking part in an investigation. Three officers were taken to an area hospital to be evaluated. The roadway is now open in both directions, authorities said.

One blogger says that the crash stemmed from a narcotics investigation. Police have not confirmed if officers are searching for suspects.
