Police Suspend Rookie Patrol Officer Charged with Assault
An officer in her eighth week with the Prince George's County Police Department has been charged with assault and suspended.

Probationary Officer Shakeya Walker has been suspended from the Prince George’s County Police Department after she was charged Friday with second-degree assault, authorities say.
The Aug. 18 assault stemmed from a domestic situation while Walker was off duty. The victim declined medical attention.
Walker has been with the department for eight weeks. She is assigned to the Bureau of Patrol, District VI.
Her police powers have been suspended. The Special Investigation Response Team is leading the investigation.
