Police: Woman Walking from Metro Stop Sexually Assaulted at Knifepoint
A woman walking home from a Hyattsville Metro stop was sexually assaulted by a man carrying a knife.
A woman walking home from the Prince George’s Plaza Metro stop in Hyattsville was sexually assaulted by a knife-wielding man early Sunday, authorities said.
About 2:07 a.m. the man approached the woman from behind and held a knife to her, reports The Washington Post. The suspect then took her behind a trash bin that was behind a set of shops, took her wallet and cellphone, and then sexually assaulted her.
Police said the man fled toward the Metro stop and may have tried to board the Metro or hail a cab. He reportedly fought with a cab driver before fleeing on foot into Hyattsville.
