Power Still Out For Residents, Roads Closed, Clean Up Continues In Bowie

Some roads remain closed while clean-up efforts continue in Bowie and across Prince George's County. Many residents still do not have power.

BOWIE, MD β€” As of Thursday 10 a.m., BGE reports almost 3,000 customers still without power in Bowie. Additional residents in other parts of the county remain without power, too.

To help Bowie residents during the heat, the senior center at 14900 Health Center Drive will be open to cool down and recharge electronic or medical devices from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The libraries also are open and have power, which are the Bowie Branch next to Bowie High School and the South Bowie Branch on Hall Road.

Work continues on the downed poles on MD 197 near the golf course. MD 197 is closed at this location and traffic is being diverted through the Rockledge and Whitehall neighborhoods.

Residents in the neighborhoods listed below may put out tree debris at the curb without bundling it or putting it in a container as is usually required for yard waste collection in the city.
